The Perpetual Mess
Everyone has it, I think? No one can keep EVERYTHING in order, I'm pretty sure? No one can stay on top of everything. Myself, like a lot of people, just file away those things for later...Later being this magical time when all the other items on your to-do list are done and you can finally focus on this one task.I actually have a lot of perpetual messes. My car, the garage, my backyard, etc. The one that's been bugging me a lot lately is the kitchen table. It's currently littered with computers, mail, snacks, and more. And it NEVER gets cleaned, just reorganized when we need it for something. The most common use being to shove aside the mess for space to do homework - moving the books from backpack to table then from table to backpack. I keep telling myself to organize it but it keeps falling off the to-do list and the mess keeps growing.I think my overall point with this post is just to remind myself that doing everything is impossible. It's always going to be impossible (again, told you I was dumb to be realizing these simple things so late in life). I need to keep listening to the voices of reason in my life that tell me that every now and again I should slow down and celebrate the win. Not only that but I need to remember to celebrate the wins of those around me. Life is messy, weird, flexible, sometimes really great, and sometimes really not so great. Even though it bothers you to see it, sometimes that damn mess can wait.
